Hit the Trails Hike-a-thon for Mission Trails

In honor of the upcoming 50th anniversary of the purchase of Cowles Mountain, the nonprofit Mission Trails Regional Park (MTRP) Foundation has organized a hike-a-thon fundraiser to support the park in partnership with the office of San Diego City Councilmember Campillo (D-7) and the City of San Diego Parks and Recreation Department, Open Space Division.

Through peer-to-peer fundraising, community members can help raise $100,000 for the park.
Registration is open and participants can start fundraising now to support trail maintenance, youth education programs, and other important initiatives at Mission Trails.

This event is for everyone, no matter their fitness ability and no matter where you live. Activity can take place at Mission Trails or any outdoor location, even in your neighborhood! Participants have the option of fundraising with a pledge per mile or seek one-time donations toward their personal fundraising goal.

Exclusive hike-a-thon branded items will be earned at fundraising milestones and prizes will be awarded for most funds raised and miles completed for individuals and teams, with separate categories for miles covered on foot or people-powered bikes.

At the conclusion of the hike-a-thon, in early 2025, participants who’ve raised $1,000 and more will be invited to attend a closing celebration where awards will be presented. More information to come!
