Join MTRP Trail Guide and amateur astronomer, George Varga, and his telescope at the far end of the Kumeyaay Lake Campground’s Day Use Lot. No white light flashlights near the telescope, please. Cloudy skies and/or rain cancels event.
Tonight is the night before the Leonid Meteor Shower so there is a good chance of seeing some. The Moon will rise after the star party. Saturn will be setting in the Southwestern Sky. The Andromeda Galaxy (M31) and its companion M32 are in good position for viewing. Light from these two objects takes about 2.5 million years to reach Earth! The Double Cluster in Perseus will be in the Northeastern sky and Globular Cluster M15 in Pegasus high in the Southwest.
