September 28 @ 7:00 PM - 10:00 PM
Join MTRP Trail Guide and amateur astronomer, George Varga, and his telescope at the far end of the Kumeyaay Lake Campground’s Day Use Lot. No white light flashlights near the telescope, please. Cloudy skies and/or rain cancels event.
The Moon is beginning a new journey around the Earth so it will not be visible. Planets Saturn and Jupiter will be visible. The double star Albireo, one of the finest binaries in our Galaxy, will be well positioned for viewing as will some neat objects, like the Ring Nebula (M57) in Lyra, Globular Cluster M22 in Sagittarius, Globular Cluster M15 in Pegasus, Wild Duck Cluster (M11) in Scutum, the Dumbbell Nebula (M27) in Vulpecula, and M13, the Hercules Cluster.
