Join MTRP Trail Guide and amateur astronomer, George Varga, and his telescope at the far end of the Kumeyaay Lake Campground’s Day Use Lot. No white light flashlights near the telescope, please. Cloudy skies and/or rain cancels event.
The Moon will rise after the star party but the Planets Saturn and Jupiter will be well positioned for viewing. The Teapot Asterism in Sagittarius is practically on the Meridian to the South making the Globular Cluster M22 convenient to view. Other objects to view will be the Ring Nebula (M57) in Lyra, the Open Cluster M13 in Hercules, Open Clusters M6 and M7 in Scorpius, the Lagoon Nebula (M8) and the Trifid Nebula (M20) in Sagittarius.
